Except for
Destiny 2 Silver, Enhancement Cores are another important currency used for purchasing the Upgrade Modules and more complex materials such as the Enhancement Prisms, which can be exchanged for the Ascendant Shards needed to fully master your armor. So, many players may ask, “Where and how to get Enhancement Cores?” That is why we are here. This guide will show you every method for obtaining Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2!
Dismantling Gear
Any weapon that is at Tier four or above will provide an Enhancement Core when it is dismantled. Higher weapon Tiers will grant more Enhancement Cores upon being dismantled, capping out at seven Enhancement Cores for dismantling a Masterworked weapon. Armor will return Enhancement Cores at later tiers, starting with one core at Tier seven and granting seven at Tier ten. Dismantled Ghost Shells will provide up to four Enhancement cores based on their Tier.
Complete Bounties
This is the most common method of collecting Enhancement Cores since you’re likely to complete various bounties and activities as you play Destiny 2. The bounties that directly reward you with Enhancement Cores are Spider’s Wanted Bounties that you can pick up from his cave in The Tangled Shore or Banshee-44’s daily Gunsmith bounties, which you can get from the Tower. Also, completing Legendary or Master Lost Sectors, Empire Hunts, Adept/Hero difficulty Nightfall Strikes, or Vanguard Strikes will earn you some Enhancement Cores at the end.
Earning Cores From Reputation
With the rework of the reputation system, you may now farm Crucible and Gambit, where, in addition to regular drop, you can also get many rewards, including Enhancement Cores, Enhancement Prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. Once you reach Valor or Infamy rank maximum, pick up all the rewards from the respective vendor and reset your rank to refresh the reward list. Resetting your reputation will allow you to earn six Enhancement Cores per reset instead of three.
Farm Legend or Master Lost Sectors
If you want to earn cores quickly, farm Legend or Master Lost Sectors. Lightfall economy changes greatly buffed the amount of Enhancement Cores dropped from Legendary Lost Sectors. Clearing a Legend Lost Sector grants roughly 3-4 cores, taking only a couple of minutes to complete with a good build. If you need Enhancement Cores quickly, farming these Legendary Lost Sectors is not a bad idea.
Use Finest Matterweave
The Finest Matterweave consumable is one of the easiest means of getting an Enhancement Core. After using this consumable, bosses have a chance of dropping a core. The consumable lasts until you receive a core, making it a guaranteed way of getting one by simply playing Destiny 2. There is no specific location where Finest Matterweave can be found; instead, you can obtain it by simply opening up your inventory and dismantling items there.
