Did some Ice fishing in Hanson today with Dave, ice was around 6 inches thick. Drilled a few holes, put a tip up down, and did some jigging. Caught one Fish, a yellow Perch about 12-13 inches, maybe a half a pound. Fished from around 12:30 until around 3pm when it started to snow. At least we didn't skunk so we're happy.

The past week I've been fishing with this new swimbait that my next door neighbor Larry made me custom in his shop. He owns BigFish Bait Company, some of you may of heard of him - Big Fish Larry Wentworth. He made me an 8 inch jointed swimbait, in a rainbow trout pattern. All hand carved, hand painted, the works. It works amazing. Every day I've thrown it, I've caught at least 2 fish on it. The first good one was a 5 pound monster that was 23 inches long, the other good one was a 4 pound 7 ounce chunker, and the 3rd one that was decent was a 2 and a half pounder. If you guys ever want a hand crafted wooden swimbait of any type, just find him online, look for BigFish Bait Co. on Facebook. Excellent craftsmanship, and great prices. Saltwater and Freshwater baits. I have a GoPro video of the 2 fish from today as well, that I'll be uploading on Youtube later on. Search for HooliganLuke, I should have it up by the end of the week.

Went out this past Thursday, trying out some new soft plastics I got. The Missle D-Bomb, and some new colors of Damiki Hydras and RI's Sweet Beavers. Caught a few nice fish, all in the 1 n'a half to 3 range. I actually caught my first fish on a Spinnerbait too, my 20+ years of fishing and I've never caught anything on a Spinnerbait, not even a Pickerel. I always heard how they were "cheater" baits like Senkos because theyre apparently so good in Stained-Muddy water and Windy situations, yet I've never even got so much as a nibble with a Spinnerbait until Thursday. I was actually not even really fishing it, I was slowly moving over to the next location I wanted to fish under Trolling power and left it in the water about a foot and a half down, and a nice sized fish hit it while it was trolling. I didn't even have my GoPro rolling, I had to immediately turn it out like halfway through reeling it in lol. I got it though. Here's the link to the video, check it out if you'd like.

Gone out quite a bit the past 2 weeks, haven't really been updating as much as I would like. But, regardless I am giving you guys the 411 on me lately (because I know you all care so much) ;) hahaha. Last week I hit up Oldham with my buddy Sam, caught quite a few fish in the late afternoon. Around 530ish-930ish pm. Sam lost a really nice fish as well, I am guessing around 5+ I felt so bad for him haha, the look on his face was priceless though. Then this weekend, I traveled up to NH with a bunch of friends to Ayers Lake Campground, and fished Ayers Lake. It was a ton of fun, and I caught quite a few decent fish. The biggest was 3 pounds 7 ounces. All in all a pretty good recent week of fishing, haven't been skunked in a while. I recorded some good footage as well, got a new video up, check it out!

I went to Lake Okeechobee last week with Jess, on a beautiful Tuesday morning. We went with a guide from Roland Martin's Marina named Mike Balon. He was a great guide, and very knowledgeable, learned quite a bit from him especially regarding summer time bass habits/techniques. We started fishing at around 6 am, and by 10 am we had caught a little over 20 fish between the 3 of us (which he mentioned was a slow day) - can only imagine what a good day looks like on the Big O' . We didn't catch any famous South FL 8-10 pounders, but I didn't care in the least, it was a ton of fun hooking up every 5-10 minutes. Biggest fish we caught, I'd have to guestimate to around 3 pounds. Was still a great experience, and I'd definitely do it again. Here's a video link to some of the Go Pro footage I managed to record.

Bit of a late update, but I hit up Oldham last Monday with a buddy of mine. Fished for about 4 hours. Caught a few decent fish all within the 1lb to 2lb range. Using Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers, and Culprit 10 inch worms. Went to another one of my honey holes later that day, and caught a nice 3.1 on a Sweet Beaver, not bad for only fishing for about 25 minutes, just for s***s and giggles. All in all it was a great day. I am currently down in FL right now with my gf on Vacation (I know again) - and I am fishing Okeechobee tomorrow morning (Tuesday 6/16) starting at 6am. Hopefully you guys will see me post some legendary Big O' - monsters. Bringing my Go Pro as well. So I am hoping to have some great footage to upload for you guys.

Man I am so clever 8-) Look at that title ^ - So this past weekend I went to Oldham by myself and had a really great day. I was fishing Creature style baits, texas rigged. I caught about 9 fish in a 4 hour span of just putting around the lake, or letting the wind drift me around. Biggest was around 2.5? I'd say, give or take, didn't really bother weighing. Was just fun catchin' - I recorded a bunch of GoPro footage too, but sadly my GoPro died after about 2 and a half hours, but I still managed to get some cool footage. I posted it up on YouTube, the video is here (in case it doesnt show up in the "trip video" section, per usual) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joADPNfKvNs&feature=youtu.be

Last week I went on vacation with my gf Jess, and Dave. We went to Clear Lake in Northern Cali, it was absolutely gorgeous; we caught some decent fish, but those elusive California double digit fish eluded us. The water quality was poor at Clear Lake due to excessive algae bloom and high winds. We still managed to catch a few bass, one around 5 pounds. We got 2 over 8 pound Catfish as well. We also visited Lake Sonoma, but skunked, the scenery was worth it though. Absolutely stunning landscape out there. Since coming back I've hit up a few places in Plymouth, and hooked into some nice fish.

Went to Plymouth today, to a place with water, trees, and fish to boot! Was actually a pretty crappy day weather wise. Dave and I decided to stick it out and fished for quite some time, from about 1230 until 530. Just as luck would have it while we were on the far end of where we were fishing my trolling motor died.... so we had to row a good mile and a half back to the launch. On our way back we stopped at a few promising looking areas and starting pitching chatterbaits and swim jigs. I hooked up on two nice fish. A decent 3.8lber and my personal best a fat egger. She weighed in at 3.23kg on my scale which is about 7.1lbs. As you can tell from the photos she looks like she ate a few softballs lol. Great end to a crappy day overall. Sadly I only have photos, as my GoPro died about halfway through the day. I wish I got this fish on video, but oh well.. hopefully I can track her down and catch her again one day.

Dave and I went to Billington today for about 2 hours or so, just cruising around throwing jigs, chatterbaits, and my new 5 inch Huddlestons. Hooked up with a pretty decent fish on the Southeast side of the big island, in about 10 feet of water on a Z-man Chatterbait, I'd say he was around 3 pound? Maybe 3.5, it was a fat fish. Fished from around 1:30pm till around 330-4ish. Caught a decent sized Perch as well, and saw a huge dead sucker fish floating in the water, which I didn't even know were native to Billington. Was finally able to get a good GoPro clip too, after finally getting one this season. Video is below, check it out.
