50th Bass Of The Year
I spent a few hours fishing at Tower Hill Pond. First I ran into a three-foot snake shedding its skin as I crossed the dam; I'm not sure if it was a young water moccasin, or a northern watersnake. I decided not to bother it anyway, but hung its shed to dry and continued on my way. My usual spot was occupied, so I went to the stream outlet and caught two largemouths and a smallie. The bass I caught were not very big, but I did see some 2-3 pounders follow my bait for a few seconds before turning away. I headed back to my regular spot and discovered clumps of tangled mono, hooks, five different color mangled senkos and a few beer cans left behind by the kids earlier. I caught a smallmouth, a common snapping turtle, and my 50th bass of the year. On the way to the truck I caught another largemouth and smallmouth.
